Never fails, it's always time for an abandoned cat, it seems. (Yes, cats can get lost, too. Happens all the time. But around here, it seems the cats appear with 'purpose', out of the blue.)
The first cat of the spring is a sweetie. A young male ginger cat. Right at neutering age, which is what makes my suspicious mind start to tick. He's skinny, way too thin and hungry, so he's not just a short ways from home. But he doesn't look like he's been living too rough. In fact he's got scruffier from hanging around here and spending time in the dirt-floored garage and forge. All his nice orange is going a bit grungy, especially on the feet and tail! (Mind you, I suppose that's like my reddish-bearded husband, now, isn't it? He's usually a bit sooty and grey, too!)

This is a cat who loves people. So he's obviously spent some time around them. He's torn between scoffing up some chows, or being fussed over. In fact it took me about 80 shots to get those few reasonably decent photos because he was always: walking out of the frame, trying to rub his nose on the camera, or sticking to me like a static-y sock. Walking around him is like running a three-legged race, with him tied to your ankle!
And unfortunately, calls to the OSPCA's around here haven't been helpful. ('We don't want him, you don't live in this district' from the one an hour south. No response at all, a lot of animal rights info, and stuff about whales and seals, but not much about what to do when you find a lost animal, from the one an hour north.)
Anyone need this cat in their life?
